Assessment and Management of Foot Ulcers For People with Diabetes Best Practice Guideline: A Focus on Total Contact Casting

This Champions Information Sharing Webinar is designed for health-care providers and students who are interested in best practices in regard to healing individuals with diabetic foot ulcers using Total Contact Casting (TCC).

This webinar will focus on the indications and contraindications of applying TCC, provide participants with the knowledge needed to determine if an individual with a diabetic foot ulcer will benefit from TCC and highlight Spectrum Health Care’s successes in regard to their TTC program which was initiated in 2018 at their Peel Ambulatory Clinic. 

During this presentation participants will: 

  • gain a better understanding of offloading devices;
  • identify the importance of total contact casting (TCC);
  • explain the indications and contraindications of using TTC;
  • distinguish ideal individuals for TTC; and
  • monitor for signs and symptoms which indicate that TTC be discontinued.
